I love, love, love this week's question. What is a good thing to do when you feel like you lost passion or feel burnt out but still have the same dreams of growth? What do you recommend for someone who feels that their ideal self and realistic self are so far apart? The reason I love this question is because the questioner says, I lost my passion and I feel burnt out, but I haven't lost my dreams. What that sounds like to me is as follows. There's a gap between the ideal and the real, the person that I want to be and the person that I am right now. And it just feels so overwhelming and it feels like I'm never going to reach there and I just lost my passion but I haven't given up hope. Ein Yishba Eilim Klal Mar Hashem for yin that don't give up on their dreams even when they're feeling so burnt out.

Life is a journey between the real and the ideal. That's the goal. We often make a mistake in thinking to ourselves, I've been at it for two years, for five years, for ten years, and it just feels like it's so far. The truth is that we have to give ourselves time. We're often so impatient. Life is a journey that's 20, 30, 40, 50 years long, and we're going to be Azar Hashem. We're going to see tremendous incremental growth in that time. So yes, you're not the ideal version of yourself. Perhaps you see that you're still saying Lushanhara. Perhaps you see that you still need to work on your tzniyez or your hasmada, whatever it is that you're working on. But it takes time if you give yourself 30, 40, 50 years of doing it slowly and staying at it. You'll see that the person that you were when you were younger is fundamentally enhanced as you get older.

So the biggest thing in the world is hang in there. Don't give up. Even if you're feeling burnt out, stay with it. That's number one. 2. When you're burnt out, that's the opportunity to show who you're really serving. If we only serve Hakadosh baruch Hu when we're passionate, then we're not serving God, we're serving ourselves. We have an unrealistic expectation that we're going to be excited and passionate to serve God every single day. And while that would be amazing and it would be awesome, it's often not realistic. We have a life, life gets busy, lots of things get in the way, pressures This is a comparison between Yerushalayim and Gevron. Davra Melech purchased Yerushalayim Harabayah for Cas of Malay and Avramovinu purchased for Cas of Malay Marasim Ha'pela. What's the connection between Gevron and Yerushalayim? Rav Meishah Wolfson Shleetah explains that Yerushalayim can be destroyed. Yerushalayim is the Bechina of Fire and it can be burned and destroyed by fire. Whereas Gevron is the Bechina of Afar, the Bechina of Earth.

The Bechina of our soul that every single Jew is made up of these 40 mahos and these Shloshaavos So the soul that's buried deep underground is untainted by the destruction of the revealed world Right now you feel like you're not in a good place, you feel like you're burnt out, you feel like you've lost your passion You have to know that even though on the outside you've lost your passion and there's a Bechina of destruction On the inside you're as connected as you ever were And that Pintaliyyid that lives inside of us can never ever be destroyed. We have to take that to the bank with confidence that we are as beloved to Hakadosh Baruch Hu today as we were when we were serving Hakadosh Baruch Hu with passion. Knowing that our essence is intact, that our Heleke Lokam Yimam Mamish is perfect, that it continues to be connected to its source, gives us the freedom to remember that one day the passion will come back.

We just need to stick through this burnt out period and Bezer Hashem you get some sleep you get a little bit of good food You're relaxed you take a break you schmooze a little bit with a good friend you get back into a better place And you'll see the vicissitudes of life right now. You're down, but Bezer Hashem in a very short amount of time You're gonna be back up
